Instead of revenge, Moctezuma had a tremendously different impact on Lisa when she drank the local water in Cancun, Mexico. Similar to how the Aztec emperor vastly expanded his empire’s territory, Lisa’s experience heightened a yearning to expand her own. She started by exploring the Bahamas while on vacation with her girlfriends. Shortly after, Lisa committed to studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic, which afforded her the opportunity to visit Poland, Austria, Germany, and Italy.

Ryan also credits Mexico for his travel cravings.  If not Mexico, than he commends the health care system in England, which afforded him ample time to ponder the profundities of travel while spending endless hours waiting to have a broken arm casted.  Veritably, he bestows distinction on the beautiful game (or soccer as we’re forced to call it in the States) for affording him the opportunity to travel through Wales and Scotland, and years later Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic.  More recently, a propitious employment opportunity lead Ryan through the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Sweden, and Norway.

Aside from our own personal motivations to travel, we found an abundance of inspiration in each other. As our alluring relationship unfolded, so did the opportunity to expand our travel experiences, and together we wandered the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand, before touring the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, and Morocco.  Currently, we are meandering through South America, commencing in Colombia, and moving through Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, and finally, Brazil, for the World Cup.
